AI music is allowed, but unauthorised voice impersonation and deceptive synthetic media are not, and Spotify is rolling out a spam filter and AI credits disclosures.
Do you have to disclose AI?
Spotify announced AI disclosures via industry-standard credits (Sep 2025).
The rules
- Vocal impersonation (e.g. AI voice clones) only with the impersonated artist's authorisation.
- No synthetic media presented as authentic in harmful ways.
- Spam-style mass uploads are filtered and not recommended.
