Editorial and sponsorship policy

Our readers rely on us to report what the terms actually say. Everything below exists to protect that.

Independence

• No tool, platform, affiliate programme or sponsor can pay for, review, approve or change a verdict, quote or summary.
• We don't show companies our pages before publication.
• CanSellThis is not affiliated with or endorsed by any tool or platform it covers. Product names are used only to identify them.

Affiliate links

Some tool pages may include affiliate links. Each one is labelled "paid link" right next to the link, and we say there that we earn a commission. Whether a tool has an affiliate programme has no effect on its verdict, its position in our tables or which tools we cover. See the affiliate disclosure.

Sponsorship and advertising

We may accept sponsors for the newsletter or the site. If we do:

• Sponsored content is clearly labelled "Sponsored" or "Advertisement" and kept visually separate from our reporting.
• Sponsors can't buy placement in tables, verdicts, "Can I…?" answers or the Changes log.
• If a sponsor is a tool we cover, we say so on that tool's page while the sponsorship runs.
• We don't run sponsors whose product our own reporting says can't be used the way the ad suggests.

Accuracy

We quote sources word for word and date them. When we get something wrong we fix it and say so. See the corrections policy.
